Sauti Sol - Best African Newcomer
Sauti Sol (Kenya) has been nominated for: Best African Newcomer at the upcoming African Music Awards (AMA) that will be held Friday October 15th 2010 at the Wembley Arena, London.
Sauti Sol with their unique fusion of African and urban sounds have captured the spirit of many in the African continent and have deserved their spot amongst their fellow nominees in the category of Best African Newcomer, namely : Adiouza (Senegal) , Vocal Slender (Nigeria), Sarkodie (Ghana) and R2Bs (Ghana).
One of the main aims of AMA is to give settled African artists the opportunity and a platform to reach across the ocean and extend their music into the European market in particular the UK where African music is influencing many of its contemporary artists. The AMA`s provides the platform where the artists are recognized for their achievements
This star studded event will showcase some of the nation’s finest alongside amazing artists from the UK, Caribbean and America. Hosted by Simon Webbe and Nollywoods favorite actress Genevieve Nnaji .
Voting on your favorite artists can be done between the 6th of September and 10th of October on AMA`s site.
