Artists go through a selection process. When they are selected they upload their music and profile onto AfricaUnsigned.com. Are you an artist and do you want to know more about the selection process? Send us an email at info@africaunsigned.com

For Music Fans/Supporters:

 1.       Sign up

You can sign up and create a member profile free of charge.

 2.       Browse Artists

You can browse the website to find artists you like. Go straight to the artists section and enter criteria into the search engine to find artists that match your criteria. You can also find artists by checking out the latest charts.

Listen to their music in the player and add some tracks to your own playlist. Read the artist's bio or blog, check out some videos or pictures and see whether they are touring in your region. You can even send them a message or leave a comment.

3.       Support

When you find an artist of your liking, just click the “support this artist” button underneath the profile picture. Select the amount with which you would like to support the artist and follow the steps until we congratulate you with becoming a supporter on Africa Unsigned. A minimum of $1.00 (plus transaction/administration costs) makes you a supporter of an artist’s next studio recording.

4.       $10,000

When an artist reaches the $10.000 recording budget we celebrate and do the dance of joy. After that we use the budget to professionally record a minimum of three tracks. Some artists might even invest in a low budget video clip.

Before the artist reaches his/her target, you can always refund your money or move it to another artist.

5.       The recording phase

The artist hits the studio to record at least three songs. We only work with high quality studios and top of the bill producers. Africa Unsigned will find the desired producer for the artist.

The supporters of the artist will be updated on the recording process with blogposts & videos.

6.       After the release

Supporters receive the tracks digitally and earn half the net revenues generated by sales in all major online retail stores. The other half of the income goes to the artist. Of course Africa Unsigned will launch an active custom made promotion plan to help the artist with the promotion of the tracks.

Of course you as a supporter can check your balance on Africa Unsigned and see what you’ve earned. You can either reinvest your earnings in other artists, or withdraw the money.

7.       What else can you do on AfricaUnsigned.com?

Put some nice content on your own profile. Upload pictures or videos, write something about yourself, start blogging! You can also create your own playlist, just click on the + sign next to any song you like in the player. This way you can promote your artists. If you write something interesting, we might even spotlight your profile.
You can check out other profiles of other supporters and comment on their pages.
Once in a while there will be chatrooms ava you can chat with the artists. We will feature interviews, videos and other related stories. Find out about what’s happening on the music scene in Harare or Dakar.
But most important: enjoy the music!
