Nina Ogot is an afro-acoustic artist. Gifted as a vocalist, pianist and guitarist, she strives to use her music to break boundaries between the old and the new generation’s taste in art. This comes out very clearly in her vibrant yet melancholic style of musical expression and also in her lyrical content that addresses day-to-day issues faced by the Kenyan society at large.

Her debut album ‘Ninairobi’ was released in June 2008 and is her artistic representation of modern life in Nairobi. After spending 4 years as a Media and Communications student in France, her experiences with the French and the Francophone people and their diverse cultures has largely enriched her music.

This Kenyan songstress has managed to incorporate her cultural background and knowledge of other cultures into her musical style and has thus developed a new, fresh and unique urban sound which she labels ’Afro-Acoustic’. She sings in French, English, lingala, luo and Swahili.
